The Termite Inspection Process

The termite inspection process begins with a request from one of the following: the mortgage company, the realtor, or the attorney. And then DeProw Services manages the rest!

You can order and print termite inspections online. Contact us for information.

The process encompasses a thorough inspection of the property. We search for evidence of termites, which normally consists of the following:

  • Frass

  • Damage

  • Shelter tubes

  • Live insects

We document our findings on the official Wood Destroying Insect Infestation Inspection Report and then promptly deliver the report to the requestor.

FAQs

Why is a termite inspection needed?

Many lenders require it, and VA loans require it.

How long does the inspection take?

Usually, less than one hour.

Termites won’t attack a new house, will they?

Yes, unfortunately, termites can attack a new house within days of completion.

Are there other wood-destroying insects?

Yes, there are also wood-destroying beetles and carpenter ants. Our inspectors are trained to identify the differences.

How do the subterranean termites get into the house?

Very easily. All they need is an opening 1/64” wide. They can enter directly from the soil or they may build tubes from their colony to your home.
